David Fitton, Deputy Head of Mission

David Fitton took up his appointment as Minister (Deputy Head of Mission) to Japan in January 2008. The Minister is responsible to the Ambassador for the overall smooth running of the Embassy and directly supervises the work of the following Embassy sections: Political, Press and Public Affairs, Management, Consular and Visa. The Minister assumes charge of the Embassy when the Ambassador is absent, in which case he is known as the Chargé d'Affaires.

He is married to Hisae and has a daughter and a son.
